已夏季了，美國出現罕見的冷鋒！ 再受極地漩渦侵襲？ （上）美國中西部氣溫打破自1880年代的低溫紀錄

　　美國的天氣報告指於剛過去的本週內，美國中西部至南部地區氣溫已經打破自1880年代的紀錄。

　　一個異常強大的寒流在七月中（14/7）大舉南下。為東部地區帶來低於平均的氣溫。

Temperature records set way back in the 1880s have been broken as unusually cool air is blanketing a large part of the country in the heart of summer. It felt more like fall from the Upper Midwest into the South this past week.

An unusually strong cold front for July began its southward plunge on Monday. The result is below-average temperatures for much of the East. （註１）

　　奇怪吧！就連 USA Today 的新聞標題更以「極地漩渦重來」（Return of the Polar Vortex?）來形容是次夏季氣溫下降的現象（註２）。

　　根據 USA Today 的報導，氣象專家指這現象是由一個不同尋常的強冷鋒所導致，並不是由極地漩渦所引發。

　　但這足以解釋這個反常現嗎？

　　或者從今年歐洲太空總署（ ESA ）的地磁探測衞星 Swarm，早前探測全球多個地方的地球磁場結果，可以找到重要線索。
