美國海軍陸戰隊將帶機械人到環太平洋演習（RIMPAC）

US marines have tested a new robotic mule at the world's largest international maritime warfare exercise in Hawaii.

The Legged Squad Support System (LS3) is operated by a sensor strapped to a human foot.

Military footage shows Lance Corporal Brandon Dieckmann fitting the sensor to his boot, before LS3 follows him across a field.

The Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) exercise takes place every year at the Kahuku Training Area in Oahu.

　　環太平洋海上聯合軍演（Rim of the Pacific，RIMPAC），由美軍主導，每兩年舉行一次，為期一個多月，今年（2014）有 22個國家參與。

　　今次在夏威夷舉辦的軍演中，美國海軍陸戰隊測試這部主要用途為運載貨物的軍用機器狗（Legged Squad Support System ( LS3 )），跟隨部隊的後方擔任後勤工作，也證明了它在未來戰場的實用程度。

　　它是 Boston Dynamics 的產品。Boston Dynamics 是一家專門研發機械人的公司，並常與 DARPA（國防高等研究計劃署，Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency，是美國國防部屬下的一個行政機構，負責研發用於軍事用途的高新科技。）研發具軍事用途的機械人。

　　這次軍事演習便用機械人，是為美國國會規定 2015 年前 1/3 地面戰鬥將使用機械人而作準備？
